The Scaltrol unit, a dispenser of polyphosphate, provides the same protection against all mineral scale and staining as our HSC-100 at a slightly lower initial cost.
The Scaltrol unit may be fitted on cold waterlines. Water pressure for effective dispensing of Scaltrol should not exceed 55 psi and a check valve must be installed before the Scaltrol unit. Care must be taken to prevent the unit and waterline from freezing. The top of the unit must be fitted in a horizontal position and should be located away from high temperature external heat sources. This will ensure proper dispensing of Scaltrol into the water system.
These Scaltrol units are designed to be used with steamers, combi-ovens, and ice makers. These units may also be used in homes and commercially to treat small buildings, restaurants, schools and detention facilities
A replacement cartridge (RSC-100) should be ordered when the Scaltrol compound is near the bottom of the cartridge.
